The DSC – 16.5 is a quick check tool to measure the amount of wear on a standard 16.5” inboard or outboard brake drum on a tractor or trailer. The DSC-16.5 can measure wear within 10,000th of an inch without the need to remove the brake drum from the vehicle. This saves costly maintenance time, especially in the case of an inboard brake drum, which with other calipers, needs to be removed leading to the wheel seals to be replaced.
The DSC-16.5 quick check ability allows you to know if the wear on the drum is severe enough to need to remove and replace the drum, eliminating the need for other calipers.
The DSC-16.5 is made out of lightweight aluminum and anodized for safety. It is designed to fit tractors and trailers with clear access to the brake drums. Wheels with guards, covers, or modified suspension may prevent the DSC-16.5 from accessing the brake drum.
